Aleenta Phuket - Phang Nga Resort & Spa

Unfortunately Aleenta is overpriced and not good enough for what is supposed to be a 5 star hotel, so I'm not sure where all the great reviews are. If you are someone who is used to staying at international 5 star hotels then you will be utterly disappointed by Aleenta 'Phuket' (not in Phuket). Appearance and Design is a 1 star: The layout of the hotel is poor and there are so many design flaws that make getting around so frustrating. The whole hotel decor feels so tired and old, there is nothing charming or nice about it. If you are staying in a grand deluxe pool villa, then it is across the main road from the restaurant and beach. If you book a beach pool villa, you have zero privacy as people can look in. I stayed in the grand deluxe pool villa and it was small compared to similar priced hotels I stayed in real Phuket. There is no door to the bathroom, but unnecessarily a door to the small walk in wardrobe. There are so many mosquitos by the pool, even with the mosquito coils and sprays you can’t sit outside. There is no bath, and the shower temperature can’t be changed. They don’t clean the pool for you during the stay nor do they clean the floors. Because there’s no water bucket or outside shower, it is really easy to get sand everywhere. Food is a 2 star: I stayed for 3 nights, and on day 1 and 3 where I only ate at the hotel where the food was not good, I also had mild food poisoning. Their plant based restaurant is so overpriced, no wonder it is always empty! Our meal was below average, and we wanted to have a nice special meal so tried it despite not being plant based, it feels like they know they can be more successful if they offer a meat based menu but just dont want to. Other facilities is a 1 star: The boat trip I booked was horrible and overpriced - read the small print! The staff, although they were all nice, were also a bit clueless and struggled: the edge restaurant got our order wrong several times, there’s never any towels by the beach, no one cleans or collects things by the beach, and the activities on the beach look like a health and safety hazard so no one uses it. Overall, my biggest regret of 3 weeks in Southeast Asia was booking to stay here because the price and experience is not matched. I stayed 4 nights at a hotel in actual Phuket for a similar price - it didn't have direct beach access, but everything else about it was so much superior. Please consider carefully before booking!

I had a fantastic experience at Aleenta resort! I spent 3 days there with a friend and we really enjoyed our stay! The resort is peaceful, relaxing and absolutely beautiful! The staff are very friendly and exceptionally helpful! Our apartment was very comfortable and we could not have asked for more in terms of luxury! The restaurant has a menu with lots of options and the food is delicious. We also enjoyed the yoga classes offered here. It was amazing to have the beautiful private beach, a big swimming pool and a smaller swimming pool in our room at our disposal! I would definitely come back to Aleenta in the future!

I had an amazing experience at Aleenta resort. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and clean, providing a comfortable stay. The beach was breathtaking and added to the overall charm of the place. The staff members were incredibly welcoming and friendly, always going the extra mile to ensure our happiness. The manager was particularly caring, professional, and attentive to our needs, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The restaurant had a nice ambiance and offered beautiful views. The housekeeping service was excellent, maintaining cleanliness throughout our stay. However, there were a few aspects that could be improved: 1. Location: The resort is quite far from Phuket, and there are limited activities and restaurants nearby. It would be great to have more options within a reasonable distance. 2. Lack of Activities: The resort could benefit from offering more activities to entertain guests. It would be wonderful to have a game room with ping pong, billiards, and board games. Additionally, having a tennis court would be a great addition. 3. Water Sports: It would be a welcome addition to have water sports available at the resort, providing guests with more recreational options. 4. Beach Safety: Unfortunately, there were no lifeguards present on the beach. It would be reassuring to have trained professionals ensuring the safety of the guests. 5. Beach Service: The beach staff did not seem to provide efficient service. They did not regularly change the towels on the sunbeds or clean up after guests, leaving some areas untidy. It would be beneficial to improve their attentiveness and cleanliness practices. 6. Facilities: The resort could consider adding new amenities to enhance the overall experience for guests. Adding more and new bikes for guests to use would be a great addition. Furthermore, having facilities like a Jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room would provide guests with additional relaxation options. Beach yoga sessions could also be offered for those interested. 7. Breakfast Variety: While the breakfast buffet was satisfactory, it would be even better to have more varieties of food options available to cater to different preferences. Despite these areas for improvement, I had a memorable and enjoyable stay at this resort. The positives far outweigh the negatives, and I would still recommend it for a relaxing and comfortable vacation.

Exceptional resort & experience! We arrived at sunset and received welcome drinks, fresh flower leis and massages right on the beach. Staff is very attentive to guests needs. We happened to be here during Lunar New Year which was a wonderful experience to see some of the traditions and participate was well. The deluxe pool villa was incredible. Very spacious, and the private plunge pool was a great way to cool down and exercise. The welcome amenities were a very nice touch. Including a personalized ball cap with our initials embroidered on top. Every meal we had from breakfast, lunch and dinners were top notch. Seasons the plant based restaurant was incredible and none of us were vegan. Morning yoga was a great way to kick off an our day. The spa is a must. They offer a health assessment also with certified staff on hand. The gift shop offers a variety of items. Including locally made gifts. There are a variety of activities onsite and offsite you can book ahead or on site. The beach is very nice and taking long walks on the beach was nice. There are wellness programs offered as well. If you want to stay in a luxury boutique hotel away from the main very busy Phuket area then this resort is highly recommended.

We've just spent 6 days there, catching up with my brother & sister-in-law. A lovely location and we seemed to time it just right - the beach was almost empty (all 4-5km of it), and beautiful clean sand and water were metres from our room. It's a perfect location for a quiet, relaxing get-away; food on offer was good, all the staff were lovely and it's a great setting if you like to catch a sunset. There were a couple of areas in rooms that could do with a slight refresh, but these really were minor observations and in no way detracted from our stay. One we definitely plan to return to!
